Paramedic Accreditation and Re-verification

*Paramedic Initial Accreditation - $209.00 

You are REQUIRED to bring a copy [front and back] of the following documentation:

  • Paramedic License (Must be current in the State of California) (copy)
  • Driver License or another government issued photo ID. (copy)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Card (Must be current and meet American Heart Guidelines). (copy)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PEPP Card (Must be current and meet American Heart Guidelines) (copy)
  • Health Care Provider CPR Card (American Heart Association, Red Cross, or equivalent. Must be State EMS Authority approved). Online programs are NOT accepted. (copy)

Submit a completed EMS Application, and remember to sign both pages. (original)

(Non Refundable) Fees can be made by cash, check, money order and Visa or MasterCard - Checks payable to: Santa Barbara County EMS Agency

 

*A digital photo will be taken for your Paramedic Accreditation Card

 

*Initial accreditation evaluation paperwork (documented by a Field Training Officer) will be submitted to Santa Barbara County EMS Agency by the ALS provider agency. (all evaluation paperwork will be approved by the EMS Agency prior to scheduled appointment) 

 

Paramedic Re-verification

You are REQUIRED to bring a copy [front and back] of the following documentation:

  • Paramedic License (Must be current in the State of California) (copy)
  • Driver License or another government issued photo ID. (copy)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Card (Must be current and meet American Heart Guidelines) (copy)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PEPP Card (Must be current and meet American Heart Guidelines) (copy)
  • Health Care Provider CPR Card (Must be current and meet American Heart Guidelines ) (copy)
  • Current Santa Barbara County Paramedic Accreditation Card (copy)

Santa Barbara County Continuing Education (CE) Form
Local requirement for re-verification include:

  1. Two (2) EMS Update/Skills Competency sessions (one (1) each calendar year of license period);
  2. Completion of Quarterly assigned Medic-CE online courses (for each quarter during license period);

              a.  A Santa Barbara EMS Agency approved Base Hospital meeting may be substituted when 

                  made available, only within the offered quarter.

 

You must have an appointment for the application process. Please call (805) 681-5274 for an appointment.  Applications will not be accepted by mail. Appointment hours are from 8:00AM – 4:00PM Monday – Thursday.
