Dana Gamble, LCSW - Santa Barbara Health Care Center Administrator  

Dana joined the SBHCC team in December 2010.  As the Santa Barbara Health Center Administrator, Dana admires the wonderful Staff and their commitment to providing outstanding care to thousands of people every year. 

Dana has worked with the Public Health Department since 2002 starting with the Health Care for the Homeless Program and transitioning to California Children's Services and the CHDP program.  Prior to his work in Public Health he enjoyed a variety of work experiences including foster family agency social worker, Arthritis Foundation program director and homeless shelter staff member at the House of Joseph in Wilmington, Delaware.

Maya Antony, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.P 

Dr. Antony is the Supervising Physician for Internal Medicine and Subspecialty Clinics.  She is a teaching faculty for the Cottage Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program and oversees the Internal Medicine Resident Continuity Clinic at the Santa Barbara Health Care Center.

Prior to joining the Health Department, she was an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. She had an Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Practice at the University and later a Private Practice in Irvine. She finds the opportunity to mentor future generations of physicians a greatly rewarding experience and has been involved in teaching fellows, residents and medical students since completing her training in 1997.

Dr. Antony’s clinical interests span the range of internal medicine, from preventive care and health promotion to chronic disease management for adults of all ages.

 Professional Qualifications:
A diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Antony is board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. She completed her geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles, and residency at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Pittsburgh. She received her medical training at Ogun State University in Nigeria, graduating first in her class.

Dr. Antony also has a master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

 Personal Interests:
A native of India, Dr. Antony has traveled widely and lived in different cultures before moving to Santa Barbara. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

 

Dr. Anthony Rogers small pic

Anthony Rogers, M.D. - Family Practice

Dr. Rogers received his B.A. in French Literature from Pomona College and his M.D. from Texas Tech School of Medicine.  Dr. Rogers returned to California to do his training at Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine Residency, one of the top residencies in the country for urban underserved primary care medicine.  Dr. Rogers received the "Resident Teacher of the Year" award while at Harbor-UCLA, an honor awarded by the Society for Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM).

Dr. Rogers specializes and board-certified in Family Medicine; he joined the Public Health Department in 2004 at the Franklin Health Care Center, and then moved to the Santa Barbara Health Care Center Team in 2007.  He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Lawrence Bines, M.D. - OB GYN

Dr. Lawrence Bines completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He graduated medical school from the Medical College of Wisconsin.  He completed his residency in Houston, Texas at St. Joseph Hospital; a University of Texas affiliated hospital where he received his Obstetrics and Gynecology license.  Dr. Bines came to work for the Public Health Department in September, 1991.  He splits his time between Carpinteria Health Care Center, Franklin Health Care Center, Lompoc Health Care Center and Santa Barbara Health Care Center.  He thoroughly enjoys practicing general and OB/GYN medicine.

Alicia Morales Jacobson NP small pic

Alicia Morales Jacobson, NP - Women's Health

Alicia was raised in Carpinteria and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from CSU Sacramento (1983). She worked for several years as an RN at Alta bates in Berkeley, Cottage Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. She assisted in many deliveries as a labor and delivery nurse while at St. Francis Medical Center for 14 years.

She went on to receive her Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner certificate from Harbor UCLA (1994) and a Masters of Science in Nursing from CSU Long Beach (1996). Prior to joining the PHD she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Los Angeles for The Family Planning clinics. Locally, she has worked at the office of Ralph Quijano MD and at Westmont College Student Health Center.

Alicia also enjoys working as part of the team of the Liberty Program; the tattoo removal clinic.

Alicia joined PHD Santa Barbara Health Care Center in 2009.  She is a strong patient advocate for the underserved in the Santa Barbara Community specializing in culturally sensitive care in the areas of: Women’s Health; STD, gynecological, family planning, and comprehensive care for obstetrics. 

She is a voted member of School Site Counsel (SSC) at her son’s elementary school. She has also served on the school district’s DAC.

Her interests include spending time with her family and friends in the outdoors setting, such as camping, fishing and gardening. Alicia enjoys relaxing at the beach.
